Starch and Silk Paper Felting is an advanced wet felting class. Starch Felting uses wet felting techniques and silk paper and starch to stiffen the fibers and create intricate designs.
An intermediate class for someone who already knows how to wet felt a flat piece and wants to enhance their design process. Create a piece that has sharp edges to your design. Students may choose from three designs: canaries, octopus, sea shells. This technique uses starch and ironing, tracing, and cutting out designs. The final piece is a 2-D picture perfect for hanging on your wall.
All necessary materials and equipment will be provided.
Students are welcome to bring any additional supplies they would like to use in their piece.
Students should already be familiar with basic wet art felting techniques.
