Fundamentals of Fair Isle
Two 2-Hour Classes:
Saturdays 7/27 & 8/3 from 1 – 3 pm
Thursday Evenings 8/15 & 8/22 from 6 – 8 pm
Learn to knit in the Fair Isle method, reading charts, choosing colors, how to handle two-strands at once, adjusting tension, catching floats, changing colors, fixing mistakes, creating your own designs, and tips for creating a successful project. Knit a Fair Isle Coffee Cosy, Headband, or Hat, select from several patterns or design your own motif.

Experience Level Required: Some knitting and purling preferred
Materials Student Brings:
100 yards of worsted weight yarn for your background color (solid or semi-solid color)
50 yards of worsted weight yarn in two contrasting yarn
Should be a high contrast from your background color for best results.
US 5 (3.75mm) Circular 24” or DPNs (may want to bring additional sizes for gauge)
Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers
