This class is perfect for beginners!
Students will explore several fun and easy techniques for painting on silk scarves, including pleading, folding, resists, colors washes, and more!
Using COLORHUE dyes, these special quick-set dyes are easy, fast and efficient because they require no setting procedures like heat, curing, or chemicals, and there is no powder mixing. The only additive needed is plain tap water to dilute the concentrated liquid colors to the desired shade. Silk painting couldn't get more friendly!
All necessary materials and equipment will be provided.
Each student will have a finished hand-painted silk scarf at the end of class to take home. The finished scarf may be damp at the end of class and need to air out at home to allow the piece to dry fully. Additional scarf blanks available for an additional $15 materials fee.
The pictures show examples of various hand-painted silk scarves completed by the Instructor as examples. They are on display in the shop, if you would like to see them in person.
