The Holidays are drawing near! Join us to knit a color work stocking and learn how to make it
completely customized to your choices of colors/patterns/motifs. You can make a one of a kind
hand knit stocking for yourself or a loved one!

Pattern:  Holiday Doodle Stocking by Jamie Lomax
You will be using Jamie Lomax’s Holiday Doodle Stocking pattern as the framing structure of the stocking.  This Pattern is required for this class.  Cost of the pattern is not included in the class price for those that already have it.  If you don't have it yet, it is available for purchase in-store or via the link HERE.

Doodles and Beyond: I recommend you spend time looking through the Doodle Decks that
Tara has for sale. These are also patterns by Jamie that will give you unending choices for
motifs and they all work nicely with the stocking pattern.

Outside of the world of doodles they sky is the limit for pattern choices. There are many other
stockings on Ravelry and you can incorporate those charts right along side the doodles if you
wish. You can also look at colorwork cowls, hats, mittens, and sweaters you love and we can
figure out how to take those charts and work them into your stocking!

Materials:
Yarn:  DK or Light Worsted weight yarn in at least two colors
Main Color:  160 (225) yds
Contrast Colors:  215 (295) yds Total
*Yardage is approximate and dependent on the number of colors you want to use

Suggested yarns:  Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok, 220 SW Merino, Stranded Narwhal, Malabrigo Rios

Example: I used Blue Sky Fiber and another yarn together with the Scandi Bloom Cowl pattern
by Sew Happy Jane and created a simple but beautiful stocking.  (The Scandi Bloom Stocking
will be on display with Tara for the duration of the class, it won Best of Class at the Evergreen
State Fair in Monroe this past summer!)x

Needles: US 4 in 16” circular for body and US 3 16" and DPNs or 32” circular for magic loop at the toe
(or size needed to obtain gauge)

Other:  Stitch Markers, Tape Measure, Scissors, Tapestry Needle to weave in ends

Prerequisite Skills:
Prior stranded colorwork or fair isle knitting experience required.
This should not be your first time doing colorwork. We want you to be able to spend class time playing with the motifs and
patterns or challenging yourself to add more than two colors into a motif.  Please try our Fundamentals of Fair Isle Class or Intro to Stranded Colorwork Classes first.
